The approval process
Your journey to become an approved City & Guilds centre starts with contacting your regional City & Guilds office.

One of our friendly customer relationship managers will talk to you briefly about the process to help you prepare for the visit from the Quality Systems Consultant (QSC). They will also ensure that you receive the initial documentation for completion. This can either be completed ahead of your visit from the QSC, or during the visit.
"Your regional contact will make this appointment with you for a mutually convenient time."
The Quality Systems Consultants visit
The visit from the quality systems consultant should last about half a day. During the visit, the QSC will review your existing quality systems, such as the number of candidates you may be expecting, and ensuring that your assessment facilities are suitable. Don't worry if you do not have answers to all of the questions - the QSC will help you through the process as well as helping you to complete the centre approval (CAP) and scheme approval (SAP) forms.
"Before leaving, the QSC will leave you with a CD-ROM centre toolkit with all the information you need to know about becoming a centre."
How long will we take to process your enquiry
Once we have received you centre and scheme approval forms, we normally take around 40 days to process them; after which time we will arrange for a verifier to carry out a final approval visit to ensure that any recommendations from the QSC have been put in place.
Receiving approval status
Once your approval status has been agreed, we will confirm this with a letter. At which stage the process is complete and you are able to commence enrolling candidates.
