This qualification is intended for those who are engaged in undertaking maintenance operations. A blend of compulsory "core" units and optional units support local regional/industry adaptation for specific occupational pathways such as mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, engineered systems, services, lifts, escalators and communication electronics. Common to other engineering NVQs, assessment will be based on evidence generated within the working environment and so is most suitable for those working in an engineering environment.This award can be taken as the NVQ element for an engineering apprenticeship, coupled with the technical Certificate in Engineering (2800).
