7100..the new 706... It has been a long time coming and we are excited to tell you that City & Guilds has reintroduced its' suite of qualifications for chefs.  The Diplomas are supported by the Academy of Culinary Arts, Craft Guild of Chefs, colleges and employers. 

The new 7100 Diplomas in Professional Cookery are available at levels 1, 2 and 3 and are being delivered at centres up and down the country.  The Diplomas take into account the latest approach to food safety, health and safety legislation and current industry practices.

Employers have been demanding the return of the 706 and learners will come out of college with the appropriate skills to start immediately in the workplace.  Feedback from centres and learners has been encouraging.  Lecturers are excited at being able to teach again and learners are responding by being more focussed.

The advantage of the City & Guilds 7100 Diplomas is that learners are graded for each of the individual units, allowing employers to see how each learner performs.  Employers will know that students can work under pressure as they are required to pass various synoptic tests, which are conducted in strict time conditions.

City & Guilds, working with Heinemann, has produced supporting workbooks as well as on-line learning as part of the qualifications.
