This QCA-approved level 4 Certificate is designed primarily for people who have a level 3 vocational background and now wish to develop the necessary study skills to progress onto a degree level programme. 

It focuses on self-directed study, research and analysis, logical reasoning and structured reflection, reading critically, essay-writing, presentation skills and approaches to collaborative working.  Assessment is by means of individual unit assignments or by one single integrative assignment covering all 3 units.

The qualification can contribute 10 or more credits towards a level 4 City & Guilds Higher Professional Diploma as well as providing the basis for progression onto a foundation or honours degree.
