These Progression Awards are designed for those seeking a basic understanding of engineering principles and enable candidates to gain a range of skills. Their content includes production, maintenance and electrical engineering.

Learners may choose from a wide selection of units and it will support the underpinning knowledge for the NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations and may also contribute to modern apprenticeship frameworks.

This qualification is now replaced by the levels 1 and 2 Certificates in Engineering (2800).
