The requirement for entry to the Engineering Council Graduate Diploma is successful completion of the Engineering Council Certificate or academic achievement deemed to be of an equivalent standard.

Prospective learners must apply to the Engineering Council Examinations team at City & Guilds for a registration form prior to the beginning of their study.

Although the Engineering Council Examination does not set any restrictions on the combination of subjects selected or the length of time taken to complete a component, prospective learners must be aware that, if they wish to join a professional institution to gain CEng registration or to further their career in general, the institution may set its own limits in order to meet particular membership standards. It's therefore a good idea to seek the advice of their professional institution prior to beginning their studies.
