‘J Bloggs’ probably set out right where you will – with our Level 2 Certificate in Basic Plumbing. This is designed for beginners and covers the key areas of the profession.

If you’re already working in the plumbing industry and want to build on what you already know, then why not give it a try.
Type of work:
Practical, hands-on, skilled. On buildingsites, in people’s houses and other
buildings.
Who you could work for:
Small family-run companies, larger contractors or you could work for yourself.
Likely hours:
Daytime, but probably involving early starts or late finishes. You could alsobe called out at weekends.
Earning power*:
A labourer or trainee bricklayer can expect to earn up to £15,000 a year. When qualified, this will increase to between £16,000 and £23,000 per year. Experienced bricklayers can earn up to £30,000 a year.
