The award at level 1 is intended for anyone wanting an insight into the industry and is designed for trainees and other salon staff working as therapists' assistants.  It contains units on salon duties, health and safety and assisting with facial and nail treatments

Level 2 has two routes.  The first is a beauty route intended for anyone interested in gaining basic beauty skills or looking to work as an assistant beauty therapist.  The second is a make-up route intended for anyone interested in make-up or looking to work as a beauty consultant or in the cosmetic retail industry.

There is a broader range of units at level 3 which makes it suitable for senior salon staff.  It has three routes, a general beauty route, a make-up route and a massage route.
