New NVQs

City & Guilds is pleased to advice that we will offer the new Sales/Telesales NVQs will be available from the 1st August 2007. If you would like to view the new standards please go to http://www.msssb.co.uk

A launch event will be held for the new standards and details of these will be made available in the near future.

The Sales NVQ has a variation of mandatory and optional units which provides flexibility for the learner. The levels and who the new NVQs would be suitable for are outlined below.

• Level 4 : for Sales managers with autonomy over particular areas of the Sales function and responsible for managing a Sales team. Such a person is likely to have several years' experience within the Sales profession
• Level 3 : for 'junior' Sales managers, or Sales team leaders, with some responsibility for either supervising others and/or making decisions in the implementation of Sales strategies/plans. Such a person is likely to have at least some experience within the Sales profession
• Level 2 : for Sales executives responsible for undertaking Sales activities under supervision. Such a person may be in a development role, perhaps having only limited experience within the Sales profession

Telesales NVQs/SVQs are at two levels, as follows:

• Level 3 : for 'junior' Sales/Telesales managers, or Sales/Telesales team leaders, with some responsibility for either supervising others and/or making decisions in the implementation of Sales strategies/plans. Such a person is likely to have at least some experience within the Sales profession,
• Level 2 : for Sales executives responsible for undertaking Sales/Telesales activities under supervision. Such a person may be in a development role, perhaps having only limited experience within the Sales/Telesales profession.

The new NVQs have:

• Fewer core units
• Greater flexability around optional units
• Fewer units needed for completion for most
• Options for selling face - to - face or over the telephone

Expiry dates existing NVQs

Sales and Telesales NVQs end registration date will be July 31^st 2007. We would like to advice centres to take note of this date.
