Introduction to trainer skills - Vocational (No. 7300 )
The new City & Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills will be available from mid-July 2007. It is an ideal qualification for those who train others in organisations. The intensive course is delivered over two days and provides the participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training. Please note that this qualification will not be accredited on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Centres are now invited to seek to approval to deliver. All course materials are provided, and will be accessed via SmartScreen. Centres will be given access once they are approved. The cost of all materials is included in the candidate registration fee. There will be no additional charge to access the materials. The course is based on the training cycle, covering: The knowledge and practical skills gained on the course will be assessed by a multiple choice quiz and an observation (by the course tutor) of the participants' delivered session, on which they will receive formal feedback. The idea of the assessment is not to set the participants up to fail, but rather to ensure that they have absorbed the knowledge and developed the skills necessary to be an effective trainer. Fast track approval is available for existing 7302, 7307 and 7407 centres. All other centres must use the standard Qualification Approval (QAP) process. The fast track approval form is available to download at www.cityandguilds.com/FTAP. Centres must complete the form electronically and forward via email to the Quality contact at their Regional Office. Once approval has been granted, access will be given to course materials via http://www.smartscreen.co.uk/. All course materials are provided, and will be accessed via SmartScreen.co.uk the dedicated online support portal from City & Guilds. Once approved, centres can gain access to materials by visiting www.smartscreen.co.uk/7300 and following the brief instructions. There will be no additional charge to access the materials on SmartScreen. SmartScreen materials also include access to your very own Tutor forum. This will not only allow tutors to ask questions, receive advice and tips, and share information with peers, but also to quiz our resident expert for 7300, Ann Gravells. Ann is an External Verifier for City & Guilds and also works in a centre delivering our 7302 and 7303 qualifications. On top of all this, Ann has produced two textbooks for level three teacher training courses, called 'Delivering Adult Learning' and 'Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector'. She has produced all the SmartScreen website content for the 7302 Certificate and Diploma, 7303 PTLLS and 7304 CTLLS. Ann has been closely involved with the development of the new 7300 qualification and has also delivered the course to one of the pilot groups. So she has lots of useful information to share with you on the Tutor forum. Again, once approval has been granted, access will be given to course materials via www.SmartScreen.co.uk/7300. There is no extra charge for these materials.
