Registered Managers (Adults) - NVQ 3 (No. 3058 )

This level 4 management qualification which includes the broad range of management skills is clearly based in the context of care services for adults. It is designed for managers now regulated through the National Care Standards Commission (NCSC) in England and the Care Standards Inspectorate in Wales (CSIW).

It is aimed at individuals who are responsible for the day to day running of single care homes and facilities for vulnerable adults. This includes nursing homes and facilities for older people, adults with physical or learning difficulties and adults with mental illness. The qualification reflects the varied size, nature and organisational setting of adult care services and the diverse role of the manager. It will help managers prepare for and meet the emerging regulatory requirements in adult care services.

To gain this qualification learners need to complete four mandatory units covering:

  • The diversity of people, and their rights and responsibilities
  • Managing teams and individuals
  • Financial resources
  • The delivery of the best possible outcomes for people.

They also need to complete six optional units which they can choose from a wide range that explores:

  • Managing activities
  • Managing people and other resources
  • Managing information
  • Managing quality.

Please note this qualification is no longer open for registrations and has been replaced by the City & Guilds level 4 NVQ in Leadership and Management for Care Services (3078).
