Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2008) - Vocational (No. 2382 )
This qualification will be updated to the Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF) by the end of 2010. The content, structure and assessments will remain virtually unchanged, and existing centres are likely to qualify for fast-track approval. More information on the new QCF complexes will be communicated via our monthly newsletter as it becomes available. This qualification is aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and is intended to ensure that they comply with the format, content and applications of the requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2008). The qualification covers topics such as protection for safety, selection and erection of equipment, and inspection and testing to meet the standards of the IEE Wiring Regulations. Successful learners could progress to our qualifications in Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations (2392). Learners that achieved the City & Guilds Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installation (BS 7671:2001), the 2381, can undertake our update qualification - the 2382-20. NB. This qualification covers BS 7671:2008 only. Whilst candidates may find the On Site Guide a useful revision tool, there are no questions within either 2382 test which specifically cover the OSG. It is expected that learners must have achieved one of the following qualifications which addresses the requirements for BS 7671 in order to be allowed to enter this qualification. Centres are required to ensure that only suitable candidates are entered onto the qualification and must hold a copy of each learners below certificate(s) for external verification monitoring. Failure to hold such records will result in sanctions being applied and approval being removed. These requirements have been agreed with SummitSkills and other providers and we believe consistency by Awarding Body's in the entry requirements for the 17th edition update will benefit the industry as a whole. 2382-20 Entry Requirements
