The results are in for City & Guilds' fifth annual happiness index
Each year, City & Guilds compiles its Happiness Index to track the satisfaction and fulfillment of the country's workforce. This year we surveyed 2,000 UK employees across 20 different professions to gauge how satisfied they are at work.
The 2008 findings signal a growing need amongst the UK workforce for genuine job stimulation. An overwhelming 95% of Britons claim they need to feel interested in what they do for a living to stay happy at work, and an increasing number insist that sky-high salaries are not enough to guarantee their fulfillment.
