Providing Security Services - NVQ (No. 1975 )
The Providing Security Services qualification allows learners to demonstrate they have the necessary skills and knowledge to do their job. The qualification has been designed for those already employed in the security industry. The qualification focuses on six occupation areas: The qualification covers all areas which are common to all security officers but also enables the learner to specialise in a specific security area. To achieve the full qualification learners must complete five mandatory and three optional units. Mandatory units: Information about the optional units can be found in the qualification handbook (pdf 0.60mb). Learners are assessed in the workplace performing real work activities. In addition to observation, there is a range of other methods of assessment such as expert witness testimony and simulation. Please refer to the qualification handbook (pdf 0.60mb) for more details. Centres approved to offer the qualification Level 2 NVQ in Providing Security Services (1875) may apply for the new Level 2 NVQ in Providing Security Services (1975) using the fast track approval form (doc 0.15mb).
