Endorsed by the National Youth Agency as appropriate qualifications for youth support workers, these qualifications at levels 2 and 3 offer a greater selection of units. They are also recognised within the JNC pay scale for youth support workers. The level 2 qualification is appropriate to people who are 16 and upwards and the level 3 to people who are 18 and upwards. The qualifications provide knowledge and understanding of the subject, and usually take the form of a taught programme. You need to have current access to work experience in a youth work setting in order to achieve these qualifications.
