Cycle Maintenance and Repair - Vocational (No. 3993 )
This qualification is aimed at those who wish to gain skills and knowledge in the building, service, repair and maintenance of all types of cycles, from children through to sports cycles. To complete the qualification learners must pass 9 practical tests. The tests are as follows: At the end of the course, learners will have the necessary skills to identify and build the various types and qualities of cycle available in Britain and ensure that cycles are in a safe and roadworthy condition, giving due regard to the British Standards Safety requirements for cycles. There are no entry requirements for this qualificaton. The course must be delivered by a City & Guilds approved centre. City & Guilds does not specify any period of time for this programme and the organisation of the course is at the discretion of the centre. Learners will be assessed by 9 practical tests. In order to offer this qualification, organisations which are not already City & Guilds centres must apply for centre and qualification approval. Existing City & Guilds centres will only need to apply for qualification approval. On completion of this certificate learners may wish to progress in to other areas of production and maintenance.
