Exemption arrangements for Legal Studies learners
ILEX have confirmed an important exemption available to those learners who successfully complete 7462 Legal Studies and who wish to develop their careers in the legal sector.
Learners with a level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Legal Studies are now exempted from part of the ILEX level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice:
Any student passing both 'The Legal Environment' and 'Principles of Liability' from level 2 Legal Studies will be entitled to exemption from 'Introduction to Law and Practice' (unit 1 in the new level 3 Professional qualification).
- The ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice is the first stage on the path to becoming a Legal Executive and is equivalent to 'A' level studies.
- The ILEX Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice, which is the second and final academic stage required to become a Legal Executive. The qualification is set at an honours degree level.
Would you like to know more? These two lawyer qualifications are wholly administered by ILEX and you can find full details on their website or you can contact them on 01234 841000.
Last places left for Legal Studies workshops
At the time of writing we still had a small number of places available on the Legal Studies Marking Standardisation workshops- an essential event for all Legal Studies tutors. This will be the first opportunity for Legal Studies tutors
to meet and discuss approaches to these new qualifications.
The dates and venues are:
- 21 April 2009: City & Guilds Birmingham office
- 27 April 2009: City & Guilds London office
The presenter for the workshops will be David Corbridge and there will be delegates from both City & Guilds and ILEX.
Both events begin with registration and refreshments at 10am and the sessions begin at 10.30. There will be a break for lunch, which will be provided. The afternoon sessions are scheduled to end at 3.30pm.
The cost per centre delegate will be £100 - maximum two delegates per centre
