Personal Development and Contributing to the Community - QCF (No. 7570 )

This qualification focuses on personal development and contributing to the community. It is aimed at learners who would like to improve their personal, social and/or employability skills. Learners will be encouraged to raise their aspirations through the development of greater awareness of self, others and the community.

Please note this qualification replaces the Certificate in Personal, Teamwork and Community Skills (3891).

Qualification structure

The qualification is available as an Award and Certificate.

Award in Personal Development and Contributing to the Community
The award comprises 2 mandatory and 1 optional unit. The mandatory units are as follows:

  • Planning for progression
  • Community project.

Certificate in Personal Development and Contributing to the Community
The certificate comprises 4 mandatory and 1 optional unit. The mandatory units are as follows:

  • Planning for progression
  • Community project
  • Career planning and making applications
  • Work-based experience.

How is the qualification delivered and assessed?

The qualification is delivered through a range of settings such as individual and group work, community and work placed work. Learners will be assessed by candidate portfolio of evidence.

Centre approval

Centres registered to deliver the Certificate in Personal, Team Work and Community Skills (3891) are eligible for fast track approval. Centres not approved for the 3891 qualification will need to complete a Qualification approval form (QAP). Organisations which are not already City & Guilds centres must apply for centre and qualification approval.

Progression

Completing this qualification will give learners the confidence, skills, knowledge and opportunity to develop positive approaches to others and their own lives. This qualification provides a solid grounding in generic personal development skills, which will enable the learner to go on to further learning. Qualifications that may be of interest include:
