Executive committee

The elected body that ensures City & Guilds meets its charitable objectives.

Our Executive Committee ensures that City & Guilds continues to pursue its charitable objectives - and that it remains financially robust. The members are regarded as trustees by the Charity Commission for the City & Guilds Group.

The Council elects up to 13 of its members to serve on the Executive Committee.

Chairman

Michael Howell HonFCGI
Michael was elected Chairman of the Council of City & Guilds in September 2006. He is an experienced board director in the manufacturing, distribution, engineering and transport sectors.

Valerie Bayliss CB FCGI
Valerie is an independent consultant in organisation and management development and education. Her projects range from work for the Russian Environment Ministry in Siberia to mentoring senior civil servants in Britain.

David Wilbraham FCGI
David graduated in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and later took a PhD. He was awarded Fellowship by City & Guilds in 2004.

Richard is Chairman of Gryphon Corporate Counsel Limited and a group of associated consultancy companies.

Ralph spent his working life in the textile industry and won the City & Guilds Premier Award in Textile Technology in 1953.
