In 2007/2008, City & Guilds worked its way to another successful year - developing the skills of people and organisations to secure their personal and economic growth and prosperity.


2007/2008 signified a new stage of the journey for the City & Guilds Group - we've taken a good look at our direction and put a new strategy in place to make the most of our resources and grow on a global scale.

Everyone should feel the difference it makes.

2007/2008 key figures

  • 99% of UK employers recognise the City & Guilds name (CBI Education & Skills Survey 2008)
  • operating income increased by 9% in 2007/2008
  • total income for 2007/2008: £103.6 million
  • we issued 1.6 million certificates
  • UK and international sales grew by 13%
  • City & Guilds NPTC grew by 19%.

Looking to the future

It has been a great year, and now we're picking up the pace - accelerating growth, creating a truly customer-centric organisation, delivering operational excellence and creating a high performance culture.

We're working hard to fulfil our aim - to become the global benchmark for learner-centred skills development.
