Researching and improving skills
The CSD works with organisations around the world - principally with policy makers, employers, training providers and learners - to share knowledge and help to lead the debate on skills policy and practice.
Its work falls into three main areas:
- research and development: working to inform and improve policy and practice in vocational education.
- skills development projects: providing services for individuals and communities - from disadvantaged adults in the UK to children in Hyderabad, India.
- consultancy: fee-paying projects commissioned by organisations to support their own development projects.
