Medals for Excellence

City & Guilds' Medals for Excellence is a global programme that has been running for over 100 years. It recognises the achievements of our learners and lecturer/trainers in the UK and internationally who produce exceptional work, or overcome the odds to achieve their goals. The Medals for Excellence programme recognises those who achieve the best results, but also those who although not at the top of their class, go above and beyond what is expected of them and show a true journey of progression.

Who is eligible for Medals for Excellence?
All City & Guilds learners who have completed their City & Guilds qualification between 1 August 2010 and 31 July 2011, and lecturer/trainers who have been actively delivering City & Guilds qualifications.

How to nominate
Each centre can nominate one learner from each occupational sector and up to three lecturer/trainers regardless of sector. Judging of the nominations will take place between November and January and the results will be announced during February 2012.

Reasons to nominate
Not enough recognition is given out for hard work these days, but we're offering your centre the chance to change this and to make a difference in someone's life. Just being nominated proves to learners and professionals that all they've worked for isn't for nothing, and that you believe in them. Knowing that there's support and encouragement behind you is one of the most important ingredients for success.

Not only are Medals for Excellence a great way to reward a job well done, each recipient if successful receives an invitation to the Lion Awards and is in the running to win one of nine prestigious Lion Awards, as well as receiving a certificate and golden engraved medal. This is also a great opportunity for the centres to get some great PR, and they will also be invited to come along to the Lion Awards. Visit the Lion Awards facebook page and take a look at this year's awards.

Nominations have now closed. Please keep viewing the website for details on the 2012-13 nominations.
