Full Technological Diploma
Attention international students, do you have a vocational diploma and an advanced diploma? If so, did you know you can upgrade this for a Full Technological Diploma? With a 4 year basic vocational qualification plus an additional subject at advanced level, you could be well on your way to holding the prestigious Full Technological Diploma.
How does it work?
The option to upgrade to a Full Technological Diploma is open to anyone who has already achieved a vocational diploma and advanced diploma, who is an international student not studying in the UK and whose job role is of a supervisory nature.
Secondly, you need to be currently employed in the area in which you are applying for your Full Technological Diploma as follows:
- Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering (no. 2720)
- Telecommunication Systems - applied (no. 2730)
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering - applied (no. 8030)
- Motor Vehicle Engineering and Management - applied (no. 3905)
- Applied Mechanical Engineering (no. 2565)
- Construction - applied (no. 6165)
- Applied IT (no. 7235)

Making your application
Firstly, you will need to ensure you have evidence to support your application. A portfolio of evidence is required that covers at least two years of your on the job experience, demonstrating that your supervisory skills and your general work experience is on par with the syllabus for the advanced diploma you undertook. Your portfolio of evidence must also include:
- letters from each of your previous employers confirming your evidence of work experience
- a copy of your CV
- and any other evidence you feel is important.
Next, simply send us a completed FTD application form. The charge for this application is £75 - this covers the administration and issuing of your new certificate.
