Sharon Saxton

Sharon Saxton is Group Board Director for Human Resources and Development. Her main focus is to work with the Group Board to implement a major change and expansion programme for the Institute, enabling achievemnet of both strategy and purpose. 

Sharon is a seasoned HR leader, with extensive experience working with managment boards and leading diverse HR teams across different sectors and geographies.

Prior to joining City & Guilds in November 2007, Sharon worked at The Walt Disney Company Ltd for over 9 years where she held various HR and Organisation and Management Development roles. She then held the positions of Vice President and Head of Human Resources, leading a team of 50 providing an HR service to 6000 employees operating in TV, film, theatrical licensing and retail businesses in 23 countries.

Prior to Walt Disney she was Head of Human Resources and Employee Development at Virgin Atlantic for 9 years, leading the set up and rapid international growth of that business. When she joined Virgin there was one aeroplane and 200 staff, when she left there were 7000 staff.

In the past, Sharon has also worked at British Airways PLC and  Debenhams PLC. 

Sharon is a registered Henley Management College Executive Coach  with experience of both one-to-one and group coaching.
