'I was working as an engineer, but I wanted to do something where I could have more personal and creative input.

I’d always been interested in photography and in 1995 I started a City & Guilds course. I was instantly hooked.

I’ve been a photographer in my own right for three years now, and the City & Guilds Annual Review 2003/04 has been my latest project. I can’t think of many careers that can be so interesting, varied, stressful, rewarding, passionate and all-consuming. It’s more of a lifestyle than a job and I can’t see myself living any other way.'
