Rothmans Kwok Tsz Ho - Hairdressing

Before studying City & Guilds Level 2, IVQ in Hairdressing Qualifications, Rothmans, 20 was a painter in the construction industry. He then wanted to broaden his horizons with better career prospects, so he went back to school and attended a 2 year Cosmetology course in Caritas Mongkok Community Centre.

He’s doing something he loves, which is a bonus in any career.

'I have no regret in changing my career. I have learned a lot about different kinds of haircuts, blow-drying, colouring and putting hair-up, but the most important thing is that I have more confidence in my work which will really help me advance in my career.'

With his high-flyer performance in school, he is now a teaching assistant, helping the tutors train other students.

Rothmans is also a freelance hairstylist, he has to be good at timekeeping as clients don’t like to be kept waiting. 'Of course, good customer service is very essential, otherwise they wouldn’t bother coming back.' he points out.

Ambitions? 'I’d like to be a Fashion stylist and help others train too. I am planning to study Media Make-up and get Teaching and Training qualifications.' he says.
