To get the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, you learn with your training provider - maybe through practical sessions, group discussions or assignments. You will demonstrate what you've learned through both practical skills assessments and assignments that cover the theory of teaching. These assessments may include a portfolio of evidence, practical skills demonstrations, and written examinations. You will also complete 30 practice teaching hours.

Level 3/Level 4
You are or would like to be an associate teacher within the Lifelong Learning Sector. You are looking to progress in your career with a solid introduction to teaching skills and theory. Delivery of the qualification is the same for both levels - the level you achieve depends on the assessments you choose and the results you get.
- How long do they take?
Guided learning hours are the hours you spend learning with your training provider or on your own. The guided learning hours for this qualification are:

You'll be qualified for Associate Teacher, Learning and Skills (ATLS) status. - How would we deliver and assess them?
To deliver the CTLLS qualification, you'll need to provide your learners with a suitable learning environment and the resources they need to complete the practical and theoretical aspects of the qualification. You will need qualified internal assessors. You will assess learners through a combination of a portfolio of evidence, practical skills demonstrations and written examinations. In order to offer the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, you will need:

New to City & Guilds? First become a centre - then you can apply for qualification approval. Already a centre? You can get fast-track approval for Level 3 if you offer:
