  • How will I learn and be assessed?

    A Higher Level Qualification helps you develop the skills to work at the very highest level in your industry. For a Hospitality and Catering Advanced Professional Certificate you'll usually go to a centre. Your work practice will cover restaurant, hotel or hospitality business scenarios.

    You'll work in groups some of the time and also organise your own study - you'll have plenty of options to expand your skills and industry knowledge.

    You'll deliver the qualification in a classroom at your centre. You'll devise your own assessments for your learners.

    You don't need any special resources - just a suitable classroom venue for your learners.

    You'll need to ensure your learners have access to a work environment that gives them a chance to develop their skills - for example, working in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality business.

  • How can we get approval to offer them?

    New to City & Guilds?

    First become a centre - then you can apply for qualification approval.

    Already a centre?

    Download and complete the qualification approval form (PDF) and send it to your local City & Guilds office.

  • Are there any learner eligibility requirements?

    At Level 3 your learners will usually have a qualification in hospitality or catering at Level 2 or equivalent, such as Hospitality and Catering NVQ N/SVQ Level 3. Or they could have work-based experience and expertise equivalent to Level 2 in the NQF.

    You'll need to ensure your learners have access to a work environment that gives them a chance to develop their skills - for example, working in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality business.
