Foundation Learning: a springboard for success
What is Foundation Learning?
Foundation Learning is a new way of helping young people and adults working at entry level and level 1 in England to achieve and progress in work and life.
Why is it so important?
Foundation Learning is learner-focused and recognises that individuals are unique, learn at different paces and require different levels of support. It provides a framework that is flexible, allows different starting points and above all choice. It's all about breaking down the barriers that prevent so many people from continuing their learning journey. For 14-19 year olds it will form one of the four national learning routes alongside Diplomas, Apprenticeships, GCSEs and A-Levels.
