These qualifications are available at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, and help learners to demonstrate practical skills and ability in producing a range of texts via a typewriter or a word processor, in a given time.

At elementary level you will be assessed on the ability to:

• copy type from printed text
• type a simple business letter
• type an easy piece of tabulation
• display a notice
• type a memo.

Intermediate level includes topics such as:

• typing more advanced items
• alterations and printers' correction signs
• proof-reading and correction of text.

Advanced level covers areas including:

• specialised text such as legal documents, minutes, agenda and bibliographies, collating and selecting from draft materials
• producing reports from subheadings.
