Health and Social Care - SVQ (No. 3175 )
These qualifications are designed for people who work with individuals to support and assist them with their physical or emotional care, daily living needs or maintaining their independence. The level 2 qualification is aimed at home care assistants, community support assistants, healthcare assistants and residential or day service assistants. The level 3 qualification is aimed at individuals who often work without direct supervision or on their own, perhaps in a user's own home. The level 4 qualification is aimed at people in supervisory or management roles.
Both levels 3 and 4 include a pathway for adults and one for children and young people. The adults' pathway is appropriate for senior care workers, healthcare workers, home care organisers and community support workers. The children and young people pathway is appropriate for residential child care workers and foster carers as well as individuals in health, youth justice and educational settings.
