The City & Guilds Group is managed by a Board of Directors headed up by Group Chief Executive, Chris Jones. The Board has responsibility for the strategy and operational performance of the Group.

The City & Guilds of London Institute (the City & Guilds Group) is a Royal Chartered Institute (RC117) and a registered charity (no.312832). Our Royal Charter was granted by Queen Victoria in 1900.
Our President is Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, who took over this role from His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, in 2011.
The Trustee Board governs the City & Guilds Group to ensure the Group continues to pursue its purpose and that it remains financially robust. The Council elects the Trustee Board from among its members.

The Council is made up of approximately 70 members who represent a broad spectrum of backgrounds, specialisms and views. The Council provides advice and support to City & Guilds as well as maintaining an electoral role.
