Delivery and assessment guidance
A new delivery and assessment guide has been developed by ColegauCymru/CollegesWales to support the new Essential Skills suite. This document sets out precisely what needs to be taught and assessed at each level – so is required reading for anyone involved in teaching, assessing or quality assuring the new qualifications.
The delivery guide is available to download from our new Essential Skills qualifications webpage
(NB: click on the 'Documents' tab and 'Centre documents' drop-down to view and download).
An initial set of sample controlled tasks and confirmatory tests, developed jointly by the four Essential Skills awarding bodies, is now available to download from our new Essential Skills qualifications webpage (NB: click on the level drop-downs to access the samples for each level).
The first live controlled tasks will be available later this autumn, and the first opportunity to sit the live confirmatory tests will be in February 2016.
For centres choosing to opt for onscreen assessment, via our onscreen assessment platform e-volve, a suite of guidance and familiarisation materials is available providing all the information you need to operate the system. Guidance and familiarisation materials are available to view and download from the e-volve web pages.
