Annual Review 2005/2006 home
September 2006 marked the completion of our highly successful five-year Corporate Plan. From 2001 to 2006 we almost doubled individual learner numbers and exceeded 84% growth in our revenue. We broadened our range of qualifications to support more business, industry and trade sectors, increased and strengthened the membership of the City & Guilds Group, and experienced significant growth in our reputation and influence as the leading voice of vocational education and skills development.

We have worked hard to fulfil our objectives, and in doing so we have enabled millions of people to achieve their personal goals through training and qualifications, thousands of colleges and training providers to satisfy their needs for products, services and learning materials, and hundreds of employers to reach their business and economic goals.

We are now looking forward to the exciting challenges of our next five-year Corporate Plan. We remain committed to developing and supporting learning and skills for all people as an integral part of individual and collective well-being. This will underpin our activities as we strive to address the global need for skills development and help millions of people around the world to fulfil their potential.

In this Annual Review we focus on just some of the highlights and achievements of what has been another very successful year. We have recently committed to promoting and supporting ‘fulfilment’ as our latest brand value. This value is reflected in how we operate as a business, an employer and an advocate of vocational education and training, how we help to develop individual learners and recognise their achievements, and how we support a wide range of key customers including businesses, colleges and training providers.
