Benefiting business
We aim to support businesses of all sizes and to this end we sponsored a national research study and report undertaken by the National Skills Forum and Associate Parliamentary Skills Group. The report, Skills: a Parliamentary Perspective, argues that small businesses are key to the future success of the UK economy and should therefore be more closely involved with training providers. It recommends that Government should remove some of the risks and disincentives that companies face in training their employees by making training tax-advantageous. We wholeheartedly support this recommendation for the benefit of employees, employers and national economies and indeed make the same point in our own publication Skills in a Global Economy.
