You might be a practising electrician who hasn't worked on fundamental inspection and testing since qualifying, or you might have recently become qualified as an electrician after working in other engineering disciplines or trades.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

This level will suit you if you are qualified as an electrician, and have some experience working either as an electrician or in a related field. You want to prove your skills in inspecting, testing and verifying fundamental electrical installations.

The Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Verification consists of one core unit:

Fundamental initial verification of electrical installations.

It covers topics including:

health and safety
inspecting electrical installations
testing electrical installations.

For the Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification, you'll undergo a multiple choice test and a practical assessment.

Once you've got this qualification and have significant on-site experience, you can go on to the (2391) City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation - which can help you move into a more senior role such as:

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) you'll need to provide your learners with a suitable learning environment and the resources they need to complete the practical and theoretical aspects of the qualification. You will also need qualified internal assessors.
