About this level

Level 4 will suit you if you are an experienced IT user. You want to build your skills in order to move into a managerial role. You may also be looking to pursue an IT-related foundation or honours degree programme.

You complete six core units and six optional units. Required units include:

What's involved in delivering this course?

To deliver the Higher Professional Diploma in Information Management Using ICT qualifications you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.

You'll also need to provide your learners with a suitable learning environment and the resources needed to complete all aspects of the qualification. You'll assess learners through practical assignments.

All learners must be in work or have access to work experience. To ensure that learners have the experience and skills necessary to cope with the demands of the programme, they should also have one of the following:

  • Advanced Diploma for IT Users (7266)
  • Level 3 iTQ - QCF Certificate for IT Users (7541)
  • Level 3 ITQ - N/SVQ for IT Users (NQF) (4322 )
  • Level 3 Certificate or Diploma for IT Users - ITQ (QCF) (7574)
  • Advanced GCE Advanced Level
  • a Level 3 vocational award
  • work experience at the supervisory level and a expertise equivalent to Level 3 in the National Qualifications Framework or Qualification Credit Framework, which can be demonstrated through the City & Guilds APL procedure or appropriate certification.
