This document is to help clarify issues around policy and practice for externally verified/moderated assessments and to provide updates on developments in this area.  Please use this at your quality assurance team meetings, and where possible, work through the document in sections to ensure that you are putting into practice current City & Guilds policy.

Guidance on internal verification of NVQs

The awarding bodies such as ourselves are committed to ensuring that NVQs retain value and credibility nationally and to make it clear what consistutes good and poor practice.  Published by DfES in 2001, the Joint Awarding Body Guidance reamains an important document for internal verifiers.
