Candidate registration
Candidate registration can be made in a number of ways.
Today's entries electronic style
A lot has changed since the old days of paper. We now provide a suite of data services that make the process of entries much quicker and more accurate.
- A separate website called The Walled Garden exists that will allow you to fill in an online form to complete your registrations and transactions.
- We also have Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities. This allows your MIS database to send your candidate entries directly to us in a file.
When these two services are combined it vastly reduces the number of errors, and transaction times. Both of these methods work for all City & Guilds qualifications (including Single Subjects).
See our data services section for more.
New electronic BB form v1.1 now available.
Merges
Please do not re-register a candidate with a new enrolment number. Instead ask the candidate for their original enrolment number and use that for all future registrations. This will stop double registrations and incorrect spelling of candidates names. This will also help avoid having duplicate candidate numbers. If this happens we will need to complete a candidate merge.
Incorrect candidate details on a certificate
The centre must return the certificate and phone City & Guilds Customer Relations, who will then be able to resolve this problem.
Making entries on time
City & Guilds must receive entries 14 days before the Monday of the exam. Please note City & Guilds will only accept entries for weekly tests electronically, either via EDI or the Walled Garden.
