Broadsheet: Issue 164 Autumn/Winter

Broadsheet Autumn/Winter 2007

Broadsheet editor, Cathy TingleWelcome to the Autumn/Winter issue of Broadsheet.

In this issue we take a good look at licence to practise – in particular how it’s transforming a whole range of industry sectors including farming, security and hospitality, to produce a competent, confident workforce.

We visit the salons of two rising stars of the hairdressing industry, and we talk to the Metropolitan and West Midlands Police about how they are using City & Guilds Policing NVQs to train their new recruits.

We hear from Minister for Skills David Lammy, and meet Shahwar Sadeque, whose experience of the education sector spans two continents and an amazing five decades. And, in response to your feedback, we’ve expanded our qualifications and resources section, so do check out the latest on what the City & Guilds Group has been developing.

I hope that you enjoy Broadsheet. We always love to hear your comments, questions or ideas for future issues. If you have any, do e-mail me at broadsheet@cityandguilds.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
