Broadsheet Spring 2008

Latest edition - Spring 2008

In the Spring issue we’re training teachers, helping florists flourish and celebrating cleaners – as City & Guilds qualifications bring a boost to each. We bring you news, hot off the press, about our new Director-General, Chris Jones, and talk to City & Guilds Council member Rear Admiral Louis Armstrong CBE about a career spanning sea and land – the Royal Navy and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

There is inspiration from 22 young people who travelled to Japan to represent the UK in the latest WorldSkills competition, and food for thought as we consider disparities in funding between further and higher education. We also explore the complex issue of employability and look at how Tesco is creating a successful and motivated workforce.
