Accredited Persons - Vocational (No. 1905 )
The accredited persons qualification is aimed at people who have an interest in maintaining safety within their community. It is suitable for those who work or want to work in some of the following roles: community wardens; neighbourhood wardens; community support workers; parking attendants; park rangers etc. The term 'Accredited Person' is used to describe someone who is employed by an organisation (other than a police force) in a community safety role, who has been accredited by a Chief Police Officer – who may bestow them with limited police power. This qualification explores various areas including diversity and discrimination issues in the community. In order to achieve the full qualification, learners must complete the following four core units: More information about the core units and structure can be found in the qualification handbook (pdf 0.34 mb). Centres should be familiar with the structure, content and assessment requirements before designing a course programme. Particular consideration should be taken to the skills and knowledge related to the National Occupational Standards. In order to offer this qualification, organisations which are not already City & Guilds centres must apply for centre and qualification approval. Existing City & Guilds centres will only need to apply for qualification approval.
