Vocational Rich List 2007

What is a vocational qualification?

Vocational qualifications are all about work-related training.

In other words, learning about something which will give people the information and knowledge they need to do the job, eg National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) or Vocational Related Qualifications (VRQs), or apprenticeships.

City & Guilds qualifications are suitable for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds and provide an excellent opportunity for people wanting to start or switch careers at any time in their lives.

Our qualifications provide the exact skills and information that people need to do their jobs across a range of industries.  What’s more, we work with key industry bodies to make sure our qualifications will give people relevant practical experience, often in the form of ‘on-the-job’ learning.

At City & Guilds we offer more than 500 qualifications in 28 different industries, ranging from beauty to butling, construction to catering and teaching to tourism.
