Matthew Lander – Refrigeration

Matthew is 19 years old and is from Huddersfield. He has successfully achieved numerous qualifications including an NVQ Level 2 in Small Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

He is currently undertaking an Apprenticeship with his employer Crowther & Shaw Contracting Ltd, a company specialising in the installation and servicing of commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.

‘I am very proud to be representing the UK in the refrigeration event at WorldSkills. I hope that it will be my name that everybody in the industry has heard of and wants to work with.’

Competition requirements: Matthew will have to install refrigerant piping, drain and refill compressor lubricant, repair systems and identify and solve problems.
