Gary TuddenhamGary is 21 and lives in Alton, Hampshire. He has studied at Carlisle College and Kendal College where he successfully gained City & Guilds Progression Awards Levels 2 and 3 in Fine Furniture Making.

He has also completed an Apprenticeship with his employer, Edward Barnsley Workshop, manufacturers of bespoke handmade furniture.

‘My dad was an inspiration because he taught me everything about joinery when I was younger. Competing in Japan will be an amazing experience. I’m not nervous at all about competing and I hope to achieve good work and get good results.’

Competition requirements: Gary will work from supplied drawings to manufacture and assemble a variety of timber products, using the necessary fixtures and fittings as well as both machine and hand tools.
