Intelligence Analysis - NVQ (No. 7240 )
This qualification has been developed with Skills for Justice, the Sector Skills Council for the Justice sector to establish a benchmark of excellence for intelligence analysis roles in the UK. It is designed for those engaged in a variety of intelligence gathering/analysis duties. This may involve the application of sophisticated analytical techniques and making judgements based on intelligence analysis methodologies. Intelligence analysts may be employed as operational staff or support staff. It is suitable for people working within the police force and wider policing family including the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and HM Revenue & Customs. It may also be suitable for those working in army intelligence gathering roles either in the UK or abroad. To complete the qualification you must complete the following 8 mandatory units: There are no formal entry requirements for this NVQ; however you should ensure that your learners are in a position to demonstrate the performance evidence/underpinning knowledge requirements of this qualification. This is a work based NVQ which means learners are assessed in the workplace performing real work activities. In addition to observation, there is a range of other methods of assessment such as expert witness observation, professional discussion, accounts and case studies. In order to ensure that all requirements are met, assessors must determine the most appropriate mix of assessment methods.
