This qualification is likely to appeal to a variety of candidates working in the public services e.g. the other Armed Services, the Emergency Services, the Prison Services, and who function with a similar level of responsibility in similar occupational roles.

To achieve the qualification learners must complete five mandatory units which cover:

• promote and maintain health
• safety and security in the workplace
• utilise resources to maintain personal effectiveness
• establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships
• administer first aid
• maintain personal level of physical fitness for duty.

Learners must also complete two optional units from a choice of eight.
