The City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Cleaning and Support Services (7698-02) has replaced the Level 2 NVQ in Cleaning and Support Services (7696).

Fast track approval for 7698-02 is available for those centres who offered 7696-02. Centres must complete the fast track and cleaning competency forms below. 

The skills that this qualification covers are:

• Communicating, team work and developing yourself.
• Cleaning and maintaining internal and external surfaces and areas and soft floors and furnishing and protecting hard floors.
• Clean confined spaces, high risk areas, food areas, glazed surfaces and facades.
• Clean washrooms and replenish supplies.
• Deal with routine waste and non-routine waste.
• Deep clean equipment and surfaces.
• Carry out maintenance and minor repairs.
• Perform street cleansing manually and by machine.
• Work safely at heights.
• Use a water-fed pole system to clean windows and facades.

As promised, multiple choice underpinning knowledge questions are now available. The questions currently available are for units 201-209, 211, 212, 214, 216, 218 and 219 with the remainder to follow shortly.
