IVQ mapping
Maybe we should decode our jargon first. 'IVQs' stands for International Vocational Qualifications. They are international, so they can be offered anywhere in the world. They are largely 'hands-on' and hence very practical.
Because of their international dimension, IVQs are not regulated in the same way as most UK qualifications. They need to satify our quality requirements but are not accredited on the National Qualifications Framework.
We realise however the importance of understanding the link between IVQs and qualifications in the UK education system, and so are publishing here the results of an ongoing mapping exercise which will help learners plan their study and career options in the UK or in their own country.
