Police Organisational Management - NVQ (No. 7463 )
Developed in conjunction with Skills for Justice, the NVQ in Police Organisational Management is aimed at individuals operating at the rank of Superintendent or equivalent, with senior management responsibility for managing police activities and teams. This is a senior rank which can only be attained after several years’ service within the police force. The structure of the qualification has been developed to reflect the functions carried out by officers who are working at, or seeking promotion to, the rank of Superintendent. To complete the full award, learners must achieve seven mandatory units and four optional units: A full list of the optional units is available within the qualification handbook (pdf.0.50mb). There are no formal entry requirements for this NVQ; however you should ensure that your learners are in a position to demonstrate the performance evidence/underpinning knowledge requirements of this qualification. This is a work based NVQ which means learners are assessed in the workplace performing real work activities. In addition to observation, there is a range of other methods of assessment such as expert witness observation, professional discussion, accounts and case studies. In order to ensure that all requirements are met, assessors must determine the most appropriate mix of assessment methods. To enable your learners to progress in their policing career, we have a full suite of qualifications to choose from: This qualification also supports the Integrated Competency Framework (ICF), a series of national standards and guidelines which enable Police Forces and individuals to improve quality and consistency of performance and behaviour in jobs throughout the police.
